The website for the American Osteopathic Manual Practice Examining Board is up. AOMPEB (founded in 2018) is the first and only organization in the history to have been set up to evaluate osteopathic manual practitioners in the United States of America. AOMPEB president, Dr Marcus Martinez , MT, DC, DOMP, COMP is a certified osteopathic manual practitioner (also a massage therapist and chiropractor) who graduated from National Academy of Osteopathy in Canada. www.aompeb.org

Osteopathic manual practitioner Marcus Martinez (from California, USA) has been chosen as the new president of the American Osteopathic Manual Practice Examining Board (AOMPEB), a subsidiary of the American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners. Marcus has studied osteopathic manual practice at National Academy of Osteopathy. He has also studied massage therapy and chiropractic (at Life Chiropractic College West and Palmer Chiropractic College West) in California. He has also served as a nuclear machinist in the United States Navy. All osteopathic manual practitioners must successfully complete the board exams of AOMPEB if they wish to join the American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners in order to become certified osteopathic manual practitioners (COMP).

The American Osteopathic manual practice Examining Board (AOMPEB) is the principal testing agency for the osteopathic manual practice profession in the United States of America. Established in 2018, the AOMPEB develops and administers standardized national written and practical examinations according to established guidelines. Among the benefits of the AOMPEB exams are: Promoting high standards of competence Enhancing professional credibility In providing standardized written and performance assessments for the osteopathic manual practice profession in US, the AOMPEB develops, administers, analyzes, scores, and reports results from various examinations. In its role as an American testing agency for the profession, the AOMPEB espouses no particular philosophy, but formulates test plans according to information provided collectively by the schools, osteopathic manual practitioners, subject specialists, and a Practice Analysis of Osteopathic manual practice profession. ...

Rewrites

Candidates who fail to achieve a passing score will be required to re-take and pass the entire four parts examinations. Unsuccessful candidates are urged to obtain remedial training. Candidates with an unsuccessful status must reapply to AOMPEB for an exam date, as it will not be automatically rescheduled.

Exam Results

The American Osteopathic Manual Practice Examining Board exam results are emailed within four weeks of the board exam date.

Application Requirements

1) Completed application form. 2) The AOMPEB exam fee of $1,500 (US dollars). 3) A professional passport sized photo of the applicant; taken within the past 12 months. If mailed, the photo must have the printed name of the applicant on the back. 4) Official school transcripts, mailed directly from school to AOMPEB. Your application will be rejected if the photo does not meet our photo requirements: Photo must be a close-up of the head and shoulders so that the face covers a minimum of 25% of the photo. Photo must show a full front view of the face and top of the shoulders squared to the camera (the image of the face and shoulders must be centered in the photo). Photo must be taken against a plain white or light-coloured background so that the applicant’s features are clearly distinguishable against the background. There should be enough contrast between the background and the traits or clothing. Photo must be clear, sharp and in focus.
